What to do if the QR code is not appearing on your iQ dash cam

This article will help you if the QR code is not showing on your iQ dash cam during setup. The QR code is needed to create or connect your account in the iQ app. This information is correct for iQ1K, iQ2K and iQ4K models.

Check your log in method

If you have already created an account, you do not need to scan a QR code again. Instead, log in using the same method you used when the account was first created.

  • Open the iQ app.

  • Tap Login to Nextbase account.

  • Enter your email address and password, then tap Log in.

If that does not work, try one of the other sign-in options, such as Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.

After you sign in, you may be asked to enter a verification code sent to your phone number.

If you still cannot sign in, uninstall the iQ app, reinstall it on your phone, and try again.

If you deleted your iQ from the app

If you recently removed your iQ using Delete my iQ, the QR code should appear again after the device has been reset.

To reset the device:

  • Press and hold the reset button on the top of the main iQ front dash cam.

  • Wait for the iQ to restart.

  • You should see the iQ logo first, followed by the QR code.

Extra Tips

  • If you have forgotten your password, use the Reset password option in the iQ app.

  • Remove any clear protective film from the display on the iQ when scanning the QR Code.

  • Make sure the dash cam is fully powered on and has finished starting up.

  • Check that your phone has a stable internet connection.

  • Allow camera permissions for the iQ app if prompted.

  • Close the app completely and open it again before trying once more.

  • Restart your phone and the dash cam.

  • Make sure you are using the latest version of the iQ app.

Additional Troubleshooting

If the QR code still does not appear, try the following:

  • Disconnect the dash cam from power for 30 seconds, then reconnect it.

  • Confirm the device is installed correctly and receiving constant power.

  • Check whether the screen is dim, blank, or stuck on the logo.

  • Try setting up the iQ with a different phone if one is available.

  • If the dash cam was recently moved between vehicles, check the power and mounting setup again.

  • Inspect the display for dirt, smudges, or any packaging material that may block visibility.

  • If the device keeps restarting or never moves past the start-up screen, perform another reset.

  • Check that the power cable is fully inserted into the base of the dash cam.

  • If the screen stays black, try a different power source if available.
