What do Date & Time Settings do?

Date & Time Settings let you set the correct time and date on your iQ dash cam using the iQ app. When set to automatic (the default), your iQ uses 4G and GPS signals to update the time and date automatically whenever connected.

You can also set the time and date manually if needed.

How do I change Date & Time Settings?

Follow these steps to adjust Date & Time Settings:

  1. Open the iQ app.

  2. Press the More button (three dots or three lines at the bottom right of the screen)

  3. Go to iQ Settings.

  4. Select Date & Time Settings.

  5. Turn off Automatic Date & Time if it is enabled.

  6. Manually select your Time Zone.

  7. Turn Automatic Date & Time back on if you want automatic updates.

  8. The format of the Date & Time can also be changed by pressing Date Format.

Note: Any manual changes will be overwritten the next time Automatic Date & Time is enabled and your iQ connects via 4G or GPS.

Extra tips

  • Leave Automatic Date & Time enabled for most users. It keeps your iQ accurate without effort.

  • Use manual settings only if you travel frequently to areas with poor GPS or 4G signal.

  • Check your recordings after changes to confirm the time and date display correctly.

  • Set your phone's time zone correctly first, as it can help with automatic syncing.

Troubleshooting

  • If the date or time on recordings is wrong, confirm your iQ has a strong GPS and 4G connection, then toggle Automatic Date & Time off and on again.

  • If manual settings do not save, restart the iQ app and your phone, then repeat the steps.

  • If the problem continues, contact Nextbase support with your iQ model, app version, your location, and a photo of the incorrect timestamp on a recording.
