Set Up an Emergency SOS Subscription - 322GW, 422GW, 522GW and 622GW Dash Cam

What is Emergency SOS?

Emergency SOS (ESOS) is a safety feature that can contact emergency services if you are unresponsive after a serious incident.

  • It uses your Dash Cam and smartphone to share your location and medical details.

  • This helps emergency responders reach you more quickly.

If a high G-force impact is detected, the Dash Cam will start a 120-second countdown.

What happens during the 120-second countdown?

  1. A 120-second countdown begins.

  2. Audio alerts will play throughout the countdown.

  3. You can cancel the alert at any time by:

    • Pressing the Protect button on the Dash Cam.

    • Cancelling through the Nextbase App.

What happens when the countdown reaches zero?

If the countdown reaches zero without being cancelled:

  • An emergency request is sent.

  • You will be contacted to confirm whether help is required.

  • If you do not respond, emergency services are dispatched to your location using the details you provided.

Before you start

Make sure:

  • Your Dash Cam is connected to your phone via Bluetooth.

  • You have installed the Nextbase App.

  • You have an active Nextbase Protect subscription, which is required to use Emergency SOS.

Set up Emergency SOS

  1. Open the Nextbase App.

  2. Tap Emergency SOS.

Select Emergency SOS

  1. Tap Continue.

Select Continue

  1. Select the plan that is best for you and tap Start free trial.

Select an Emergency SOS plan

  1. Complete your profile:

    • Enter your medical details.

    • Enter your vehicle details.

Emergency SOS will only activate once this information has been completed.

Troubleshooting

  • If Emergency SOS does not appear in the app, check that your Dash Cam is connected via Bluetooth.

  • If you cannot start a subscription, ensure your app is up to date.

  • If setup is incomplete, go back into the Emergency SOS section and check that all required details have been filled in.

What to expect

Once your subscription and required profile information are completed, Emergency SOS will be activated.

If a high G-force impact is detected, a 120-second countdown will begin.
