When this applies
Use this article when you need to format the SD card used in a 380GWX or 380GW Dash Cam.
Before formatting the SD card, make sure you have backed up any footage you need to keep.
Process / information
Format the SD card using the Dash Cam
Press and hold the red triangle button on the front of the Dash Cam for 6 seconds.
Release the button. The yellow LED will flicker during formatting.
Allow the yellow LED to flash for approximately 30 seconds to complete the format.
Format the SD card using the Cam Viewer app
You must be connected to the Dash Cam before the SD card can be formatted through the Cam Viewer app.
Open the Cam Viewer mobile app.
Tap the slider button to open the menu. This is shown as three lines in the top-right corner.
Tap Dash Cam Settings.
Tap Setup.
Select Format SD Card from the settings options.
Format the SD card using a Windows computer
Right-click the SD card drive.
Select Format.
Select FAT32 or exFAT.
Uncheck Quick Format.
Select Start.
Format the SD card using a Mac
Open Disk Utility.
Select the SD card.
Select Erase.
Select FAT32 (MS-DOS) or exFAT.
Select Erase.
SD card maintenance
Regularly check the SD card for errors and reformat it every few weeks.
Avoid using the same SD card across multiple devices to prevent file system conflicts.
Replace the SD card periodically, especially if it shows signs of wear or reduced performance.
