When this applies
Use this article when connecting a 380GWX or 380GW Dash Cam to the Cam Viewer mobile app.
Before you begin:
Make sure the Dash Cam is powered on using the supplied power cable.
Make sure a compatible SD card is inserted into the Dash Cam.
Make sure the Cam Viewer app is installed on your mobile device.
Process / information
Connect the Dash Cam using Wi-Fi
Press and hold the Wi-Fi button on the Dash Cam for approximately 3 seconds.
Wait for the blue LED to start flashing.
Open the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device.
Select your 380GWX or 380GW Dash Cam from the available Wi-Fi networks.
Enter the default Wi-Fi password: 12345678
Open the Cam Viewer app.
Check that the Dash Cam has connected to the Cam Viewer app.
If your phone shows "No internet connection"
This is normal when your mobile device is connected directly to the Dash Cam's Wi-Fi network.
The message does not necessarily mean that the connection to the Dash Cam has failed.
If the Wi-Fi password is incorrect
If your mobile device shows "password incorrect", the Dash Cam's Wi-Fi password may have previously been changed.
The firmware may need to be refreshed.
Follow the Update the Firmware - 380GWX and 380GW Dash Cam article.
If the Dash Cam does not connect
If you see "failed" or "not connected":
Temporarily disconnect your mobile device from other Wi-Fi networks, including your home Wi-Fi.
Turn off any VPN running on your mobile device.
Turn off automatic Wi-Fi reconnection if your mobile device has this setting.
Disconnect from Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
Check that all permissions required by the Cam Viewer app have been allowed.
Close the Cam Viewer app, wait one minute and try connecting again.
If the connection still fails, turn on Airplane Mode and then manually turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth back on.
Check that the SD card is compatible and correctly formatted.
Check the Dash Cam firmware and update it if required.
If the Dash Cam still does not connect:
Restart the Dash Cam and your mobile device.
Forget the Dash Cam's Wi-Fi network in your mobile device's Wi-Fi settings.
Reconnect to the Dash Cam's Wi-Fi network using the steps above.
If the Wi-Fi password has changed and the default password is not accepted, reflash the Dash Cam firmware.
What to expect
When Wi-Fi mode is active, the blue LED on the Dash Cam should flash.
Your mobile device should connect to the Dash Cam's Wi-Fi network and the 380GWX or 380GW Dash Cam should then be accessible through the Cam Viewer app.
Your mobile device may display "No internet connection" while connected to the Dash Cam. This can be expected because the mobile device is connected directly to the Dash Cam's Wi-Fi network.
