When this applies
Use this article when a 380GW or 380GWX Dash Cam:
Does not power on.
Shows no LED lights.
Becomes unresponsive.
Shows solid red and blue LED lights.
Makes a persistent chiming sound.
The Dash Cam should power on without an SD card inserted. It will not record without an SD card, but it should still power on and display its status LEDs when connected to power.
Process / information
Check the LED lights
Flashing Red LED: The Dash Cam is recording. Recording starts automatically when the Dash Cam is powered on. A connection to the mobile app is not required.
Solid Blue LED: The battery is charging. If the battery does not require charging, the blue LED will not remain on while driving.
Solid Yellow LED: GPS is active and functioning.
Test the Dash Cam using another power source
Remove the Dash Cam from its mount by sliding it upwards.
Open the side panel to access the USB port.
Connect the Dash Cam using a USB cable.
Connect the USB cable to a wall adapter or computer.
Check whether the Dash Cam powers on.
If the Dash Cam powers on using this method, the issue is likely with the vehicle's wiring or power supply.
Perform a soft reset
Make sure the Dash Cam is powered on.
Press and hold the Reset button for approximately 10 seconds.
Wait for the Dash Cam to power down and restart.
Test without the SD card
Power off the Dash Cam.
Remove the microSD card.
Press and hold the Reset button for approximately 10 seconds.
Power the Dash Cam back on.
Check the Dash Cam and LED lights.
Update the firmware
If the Dash Cam powers on, update the firmware using a formatted SD card and a computer.

Check the microSD card
The microSD card slot is located underneath the right-hand side panel of the Dash Cam.
Use a microSD card rather than the full-size SD card adapter.
Insert the microSD card contacts-first into the slot.
Gently push the card into the spring-loaded slot until it clicks into place.
The full-size SD card adapter is only required when using a computer that has a full-size SD card slot.
Check that the microSD card is compatible and correctly inserted.
Use a U3 microSD card.
Format the microSD card regularly.
What to expect
If the Dash Cam powers on when connected directly using the USB port, this indicates that the Dash Cam can receive power and the vehicle's wiring or power supply may need to be checked.
If the Dash Cam powers on after removing the SD card, resetting the Dash Cam or updating the firmware, check that the Dash Cam returns to normal operation.
If the Dash Cam does not power on after completing the troubleshooting steps, it may require further investigation.
