LED Light Meanings - 380GW and 380GWX Dash Cam

This article explains what the LED lights and icons on the Nextbase 380GW and 380GWX Dash Cam mean, including the status of power, recording, GPS, file protection and Wi-Fi.

Red LED - Power and recording

  • Slow flash: The Dash Cam is recording normally.

  • Fast flash: The Dash Cam is updating its firmware.

  • Solid: The Dash Cam is powered on.

Yellow LED - GPS

  • Slow flash: The Dash Cam is searching for GPS satellites.

  • Fast flash: The Dash Cam is formatting the SD card.

  • Solid: GPS is locked for speed and location data.

Red Triangle - File protection

  • Slow flash: The Dash Cam is in Mass Storage Mode when connected to a computer.

  • Fast flash: The SD card needs formatting or may be faulty.

  • Solid: A file is protected.

Blue Triangle - Wi-Fi

  • Slow flash: Wi-Fi is on or the Dash Cam is in update mode.

  • Fast flash: The SD card needs formatting or may be faulty.

  • Solid: A device is connected to the Dash Cam via Wi-Fi.

What to expect

The LED lights and icons will change depending on the current status of the Dash Cam.

The 380GW and 380GWX Dash Cam use these LED patterns. Series 2 Dash Cams use different LED patterns.
