What does exposure mean?
Exposure is the amount of light that reaches the camera sensor when your dash cam records. It controls how bright or dark your video looks.
If you increase the exposure setting, your video will look brighter. If you decrease the exposure setting, your video will look darker.
How do I adjust my exposure setting?
Follow these steps to change the exposure in the iQ app:
Open the iQ app.
Go to More (three dots or three lines at the bottom right of the screen).
Tap iQ Settings.
Scroll down and select Exposure.
For each dash cam view (up to three, if applicable), use the slider below the example image to set the desired light level.
Exit the Exposure screen to save your changes.
Any new exposure settings will apply to recordings made after you change them.
Extra tips
If your footage looks too dark, move the slider slightly higher and test again.
If your footage looks too bright or washed out, move the slider slightly lower and test again.
Troubleshooting
If videos do not look different after you change the exposure, close and reopen the iQ app and check the sliders again.
Make sure you have adjusted the exposure for each active camera view, not just one.
If changes still do not apply, restart your phone and the iQ, then repeat the steps above.
If the issue continues, contact Nextbase support with your iQ model, app version, and a sample recording.
