What is a voice command?
A voice command is a spoken phrase that allows you to activate some features on your iQ.
It lets you operate the Dash Cam without touching buttons or the app.
How to use voice commands
Make sure your iQ is ready to receive a voice command (no error or setup screen).
Say the wake word: “Hey Dashcam”.
When the voice‑command icon appears on screen, say one of the recognised commands.
Speak clearly and at a normal volume for the best results.
Which voice commands will my iQ recognise?
Below are some examples of voice commands that you can use with your iQ. Your iQ will also recognise variations of these commands:
Voice commands your iQ recognises
Feature | Voice command | Effect |
File Protection | “Hey Dashcam, protect this file” | Protects the current set of files so they are not overwritten when the SD card is full. |
Witness Mode Start | “Hey Dashcam, Start Witness Mode” | Turns on Witness Mode and begins a live stream. |
Witness Mode Stop | “Hey Dashcam, Stop Witness Mode” | Turns off Witness Mode and ends the live stream. |
Turn Cabin Camera Off | “Hey Dashcam, turn Cabin camera off” | Stops the iQ from recording inside‑cabin video. |
Turn Cabin Camera On | “Hey Dashcam, turn Cabin camera on” | Resumes cabin‑camera recording. |
Start Privacy Mode | “Hey Dashcam, Enable Privacy Mode” | Turns on Privacy Mode: stops audio and cabin‑video recording. |
Stop Privacy Mode | “Hey Dashcam, Disable Privacy Mode” | Turns off Privacy Mode: resumes audio and cabin‑video recording. |
Your iQ may also recognise slight variations of these phrases.
