What is Privacy Mode on your iQ Dash Cam?

Privacy Mode stops your iQ from recording video and audio inside your vehicle, so passengers and private conversations are not captured. The front and rear cameras continue to record outside video, but without sound.

What is Privacy Mode?

  • When Privacy Mode is on, your iQ does not record video or audio inside the vehicle.

  • This protects passengers and any private conversations.

  • External video from the front and rear cameras is still recorded, but without audio.

How to turn on Privacy Mode

  1. Say: “Hey Dash Cam, turn on Privacy Mode”.

  2. The Privacy Mode icon will appear on the iQ screen to confirm it is active.

From that point, internal audio and video are not recorded until you turn Privacy Mode off.

How to turn off Privacy Mode

  1. Say: “Hey Dash Cam, turn off Privacy Mode”.

  2. The Privacy Mode icon will disappear and internal audio and video recording will resume.

Privacy Mode also ends automatically when you stop driving and your iQ enters SmartSense Parking Mode.

Extra note

Privacy Mode cannot be turned on or off from the iQ app; it can only be controlled by voice command.
