What is Witness Mode Lite?
Witness Mode Lite helps you protect important footage using a simple voice command. It locks related video files so they are not overwritten, even after your SD card fills up.
How does Witness Mode Lite work?
When you need to capture an incident, use your voice:
Say: “Hey Nexy, witness mode.”
The Dash Cam starts a Witness Mode Lite session and begins protecting footage with a “witness mode” tag.
It records and protects video for a set duration of 15 minutes.
To end the session:
Say: “Hey Nexy, stop witness mode.”
The Dash Cam stops Witness Mode Lite but keeps all footage from the session protected on your SD card.
Automatic file protection
Witness Mode Lite is designed to safeguard your footage even if your phone is not connected.
All files recorded during a Witness Mode Lite session are automatically saved as Protected files.
These files are stored on the SD card and are not overwritten by normal loop recording until the Protected file space is full.
What are the key features of Witness Mode Lite?
Voice commands:
Start: “Hey Nexy, witness mode.”
Stop: “Hey Nexy, stop witness mode.”
Automatic file protection:
Every file recorded while Witness Mode Lite is active is automatically protected on your SD card.
Emergency notifications:
When Witness Mode Lite is triggered, your chosen emergency contacts receive notifications (by SMS and email) so they know an incident may have occurred.
Troubleshooting
If a Voice Command not recognised:
Speak clearly and use the exact phrases.
Check that the Dash Cam microphone is not muted and that voice control is enabled in the settings.
If there are no Protected files after using Witness Mode:
Confirm that the “witness mode” voice prompt was acknowledged on the Dash Cam (look or listen for on‑screen/voice feedback).
Check your SD card is inserted, compatible, and not full or corrupted.
If your emergency contacts are not receiving notifications:
Make sure emergency contacts are set up correctly in the app.
Check that your phone had a data connection and was connected to the Dash Cam during or shortly after the event.
