What to do if your camera doesn't turn on

If your Dash Cam isn't turning on when it should, try these steps:

  1. Unplug the power supply and rear camera (if applicable).
  2. Remove the SD card from the camera.
  3. Plug the power supply into the camera.
  4. Push the "reset" button on the bottom (or side) of the device.

Your camera should now turn on as expected. There are a number of reasons why this could occur, but the most probable is that either the SD card needs to be formatted, is not suitable, or has failed.

What to do if the camera turns on without an SD card

Format the SD card inside a computer (if you are unable to format it inside your Dash Cam). If you continue to experience issues, you will need to replace your SD card. We strongly recommend purchasing a Nextbase-branded SD card for the best performance.

What to do if the problem occurs without the SD card

If your camera still isn't turning on, try a different power supply. It's likely this is happening because your camera isn't getting enough power through the power cable.
