How can I manage my Nextbase iQ subscription, update payment details, and understand the impact of cancellation?

Managing Your Nextbase iQ Subscription and Payment Details

This guide provides comprehensive information on managing your Nextbase iQ subscription, updating payment details, and understanding the impact of subscription cancellation on dashcam functionality.

Subscription Management

You can cancel your Nextbase iQ subscription at any time without penalties. However, once you have cancelled, you will lose access to subscription benefits, such as app features like Live View and the cloud footage library. If you decide to cancel, your dashcam will still record events within its radar range, but you will need to remove the SD card and connect it to a computer to view recordings. Note that storage duration depends on factors like your dashcam model, SD card size, rear camera usage, and driving frequency. Older footage will be overwritten when the card fills, while protected files are retained.

Nextbase subscriptions are pay-as-you-go with no long-term contracts. If you are not using your dashcam, you can cancel your subscription and reinstate it later when needed. To cancel your subscription, open the Nextbase iQ app, navigate to Settings, select Subscription, and choose Cancel. You can restart your subscription anytime by returning to the same menu in the app.

Updating Payment Details

To update your payment method for your Nextbase iQ subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Nextbase iQ app.

  2. Tap the menu (often represented by three lines or dots) in the bottom-right corner.

  3. Navigate to the "Subscription" section.

  4. Select "Payment Method" and follow the prompts to update your card details.

If the app does not allow you to directly change your payment method, you can cancel your subscription and then resubscribe using the new payment details. This ensures your payment information is updated successfully.

Impact of Subscription Cancellation

Cancelling your subscription does not affect the dashcam’s ability to record events. The device will continue to capture journeys and motion/events within its SmartSense Parking/radar range. However, app features like Live View and cloud storage will no longer be accessible. To view recordings, you can remove the SD card and connect it to a computer. Keep in mind that storage capacity and overwrite behavior depend on your dashcam model and usage patterns.

Device Replacement and Subscription Transfer

If your Nextbase dashcam is replaced, your existing subscription will be removed from the original device. To transfer any remaining subscription time to your new device:

  1. Set up and activate your new dashcam.

  2. Start a new subscription for the replacement device.

  3. Provide the new device’s serial number to Nextbase Support to transfer the remaining time from your previous subscription. Alternatively, you may receive a voucher from Support to credit the remaining subscription time to your new device. Apply this voucher during checkout in the app when selecting the Protect Plus yearly plan.### Refunds and Credits For yearly subscription plans, any remaining time will be refunded if your device is replaced. After receiving your replacement device, you will need to start a new subscription for the new unit.
