Troubleshooting Common Issues with Nextbase Dashcams
If you are experiencing issues with your Nextbase dashcam, such as freezing, being stuck on the logo screen, or intermittent functionality, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.
Common Issues and Symptoms
Dashcam stuck on the logo screen
Beeping or powering off shortly after startup
Freezing during operation
Issues after a firmware update
General Troubleshooting Steps
Check the SD Card: - Remove the SD card and restart the dashcam. - Replace the SD card with a high-quality, high-endurance card if issues persist. Faulty or incompatible SD cards are a common cause of problems. - Format the SD card in the camera regularly (every 2–3 weeks) to maintain performance.
Perform a Reset: - For the Nextbase 522GW, press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds, then release. Power the dashcam on without the SD card to check if it boots normally. - For the Nextbase iQ, press and hold the reset button for about 10 seconds (do not exceed this duration), then release. Ensure the camera is connected to a stable power source during the reboot.
Ensure a Stable Power Supply: Keep the dashcam connected to a reliable power source during operation and troubleshooting.
Model-Specific Guidance
Series 2 Nextbase dash cams - 3/4/5/622GW
If the dashcam freezes intermittently, disconnect the rear camera and test the front camera alone for 48 hours. If the issue resolves, the rear camera or its connection may be the cause.
Update the firmware via the app or by loading the firmware onto the SD card using a computer. Retry after the update.
Nextbase iQ
Remove both antennas, swap them to the opposite sides, and reseat them firmly.
If the boot or update still fails, back up important files, format the SD card, and attempt the update again.
