What do the icons mean?
Core iQ Icons
iQ logo – Power on screen; shown when the iQ is starting up.
QR code – Scan with the Nextbase iQ app to link your phone to the camera.
Orange spinning arrows – iQ connecting.
Blue spinning circle – iQ setup in progress.
Spanner with blue circle – iQ firmware update in progress
Green tick – Action completed successfully (e.g. setup, update).
Power icon – Device powering off
Recording & Protection
Red dot – Loop recording in progress (normal driving mode).
Padlock – Footage protected and will not be overwritten.
Purple shield – Witness Mode active; started with “Hey Dashcam start witness mode” and stopped with “Hey Dashcam stop witness mode”.
Parking mode shield – Smart Sense Parking active; iQ monitors movement and records when needed.
Red dot + orange crossed‑out eye – Loop recording with Privacy Mode active
Red dot + white eye – Loop recording with Live View active.
Yellow SD card with circular arrows – SD card is being formatted.
Alerts & Events
Bell icon – Siren activated via the app.
Red running man – Motion detected.
Red circle with exclamation mark – Impact or vehicle movement detected, or a general error (see “Error States” below).
Emergency SOS (ESOS) Icons
“ESOS” + warning triangle – Emergency SOS mode activated.
“ESOS” + X – Emergency SOS error.
“ESOS” + countdown numbers – Emergency SOS countdown (110 → 0).
“ESOS” + green envelope – Emergency SOS message sent.
“ESOS” + red envelope – Emergency SOS message failed.
Connectivity & Cloud
White Bluetooth symbol – iQ connected to your phone via Bluetooth.
Cloud icon – Remote cloud transfer in progress or available.
Blue microphone – Voice command is being processed.
Orange microphone – Voice command not recognised.
Error States (Storage & General)
SD card outline with up/down arrows – Replace SD card
SD card outline with X – SD card not detected.
White circle with exclamation mark on red background – General error state (check app or on‑screen message).
Signal & GPS
Red signal bars + exclamation point – No signal.
One red signal bar – Weak signal.
Two white signal bars – Medium signal.
Three white signal bars – Strong signal.
Red GPS icon – No GPS signal (GPS not locked).
