How to change the mount on your Series 2 Dash Cam

Changing the mount on your Dash Cam

This article walks you through the process of removing the Dash Cam from the powered mount, taking the adhesive mounting plate off, switching to the suction cup mount, and highlights the differences between adhesive and suction mounts.

Step 1

Pull the Dash Cam away from the windscreen by pulling it towards you.

Overview of Mounting Options

Nextbase Series 2 Dash Cams support two types of mounts:

  • Adhesive Mount: Uses a sticky pad for a permanent or semi-permanent attachment to the windscreen.

  • Suction Mount: Uses a suction cup for a removable and reusable attachment, ideal for switching between vehicles. Both mounts are compatible with the Click&Go PRO GPS mount, ensuring GPS functionality remains intact.

Step 2

Slide the adhesive plate across (away from the small notch) to remove it from the powered mount, once removed, slide the replacement suction cup onto the mount in the opposite direction. Ensure you locate the small notch on the adhesive plate and use your thumbs to press against the edge for easier removal.

Step 3

When applying the suction cup mount to the windscreen (with Dash Cam attached), ensure the suction cup and windscreen surfaces are both clean. Apply pressure with the lever-arm open, then push the arm down until the mount locks into position. Additionally, test the suction cup’s grip by gently tugging it before driving to ensure it is securely attached.

Comparison: Adhesive vs. Suction Mounts

  • Adhesive Mount:

    • Provides a firmer, more permanent attachment.

    • Suitable for users who do not need to move the Dash Cam frequently.

  • Suction Mount:

    • Offers a removable and reusable option.

    • Ideal for users who switch the Dash Cam between vehicles or prefer a non-permanent fit.

Extra tips
