Update using SD card (PC/Mac) How to Check Your Current Firmware Version
Stop any ongoing recording on the dash cam.
Open the Settings menu by selecting the cog icon.
Navigate to Setup and select System Info.
The firmware version will be displayed on the screen.
Download the latest firmware ZIP file from your Dash Cam's support page.
Insert the SD card into the dash cam and connect the camera to your computer via USB.
Extract the contents of the downloaded ZIP file. You should see one or more
.binfiles.Copy all
.binfiles to the root directory of the SD card. Do not place them inside any folder or rename them.Safely eject or disconnect the camera from your computer.
Insert the SD card into a powered-off Dash Cam.
Plug in power – the update starts automatically and may take several minutes.
The dash cam will restart automatically once the update is complete.

Update using Nextbase App
Connect Dash Cam to Nextbase App, this should show as Connected on the Homepage.
Select More.
Select Firmware Update.
Note: The app method may not work if your dashcam is several firmware versions behind. In such cases, use the SD card method.
Update using MyNextbase Player (Series 2 only)
Install MyNextbase Player on computer.
Connect Dash Cam via USB.
Select Firmware Update on Dash Cam.
Click Update Dash Cam in MyNextbase Player.

Check your Firmware Version in the app after an update, to make sure it has completed correctly.
Copy all
.binfiles provided in the firmware ZIP to the root of the SD card.Do not rename or move
.binfiles into folders.Do not copy the ZIP file itself to the SD card.
Troubleshooting
If your update fails, format your SD card and try the update again.
If there is no option to update, check that you are using the correct updating method for your device model.
If the Firmware update gets stuck mid-update, wait 10 minutes, power cycle if needed.
If you don’t have access to a computer to download and transfer firmware files, consider borrowing one from a friend or using a public computer at a library or internet café.
