Report Road Defects With Your Gen 2 Camera

You can report road defects such as potholes, cracks, damaged signs, and other road‑safety issues directly from the Nextbase App using the Road Safety Club feature. This helps local authorities and mapping partners improve your local roads.

How to make a report

  1. Connect your Gen 2 Dash Cam to the Nextbase App.

  2. Tap Road Safety Club → Report now.

  3. Choose a video from one of these options:

    • Uploaded from your Dash Cam

    • From your device Gallery

    • From the Downloads section in the app

  4. Complete the short report form and submit it.

Nextbase will forward the details to the right partner (for example, a highways agency or local council) so they can look into the issue.

What you can report

You can report any road‑safety issue, including:

  • Potholes and cracks in the road surface

  • Damaged or missing road signs

  • Unsafe road conditions such as poor markings or lighting

  • Any other hazard that makes the road less safe

All reports should be clear and relevant to actual road safety.

Can you track your report?

Right now, you cannot track an individual report after it is submitted. However, this tracking feature is planned for future app updates.

How your data is used

  • Your footage is anonymised before it is shared with partners.

  • Personal data, number‑plates and faces are removed or blurred, and audio is not used.

  • Only front‑facing footage, GPS data and timestamps are kept to help identify the exact location and nature of the defect.

You can review the full details in the End‑User Licence Agreement (EULA) and Privacy Policy inside the Nextbase App.
