Piqo unboxing and installation

This article shows you how to unbox and install your Piqo Dash Cam using the 12V power cable, covers what's included and step-by-step mounting and wiring, and provides tips and troubleshooting steps if power or Smart Parking does not work.

What's in the box

  • Piqo Dash Cam

  • Spare adhesive pad

  • Dual USB-C 12V power supply

  • USB-C cable (angled + straight ends)

  • Warning sticker

  • Trim tool

Step-by-step installation

Prepare the Dash Cam

  1. Attach Piqo to windscreen using pre-fitted adhesive pad.

  2. Position behind rear view mirror for clear road view.

  3. Store spare pad safely.

Connect the USB-C cable

4. Plug angled end into Piqo for neat fit.

Plug in the 12V Power Cable

  1. Insert dual USB-C 12V power supply into car’s 12V socket.

  2. Connect straight USB-C end to power supply port.

Hide the cable

  1. Run cable along windscreen edge.

  2. Tuck into trim gaps using included tool, avoid running the cable over any airbags.

Apply the Warning Sticker

  1. Place sticker on rear window (required in some regions).

Test the Dash Cam

10. Start ignition, Piqo powers up automatically.
11. Check live view in Nextbase app for correct angle.

Smart Parking note: This feature needs permanent power via Piqo Pro/Quick Connect Cable or always-on 12V port. Check vehicle manual.

Extra tips

  • Clean windscreen thoroughly before sticking adhesive.

  • Press mount firmly for 30 seconds; wait 1 hour before driving.

  • Test angle in app live view before finalising position.

  • Use angled USB-C for cleaner install behind mirror.

  • Make sure cables are not routed along airbags

Troubleshooting

  • If your Piqo won't power on, check 12V socket works (test with phone charger), reseat USB-C connections, try other socket if possible.

  • If Smart Parking is not activating, confirm permanent power (Piqo stays on with ignition off) and Smart Parking is turned on in the Nextbase App.

  • If you have a poor viewing angle, gently adjust mount before adhesive sets fully; remount with spare pad if required.

  • If the cable is loose, secure with trim tool; avoid sharp bends.
