How can I transfer my Nextbase dashcam installation to another vehicle?

How to Transfer Your Nextbase Dashcam Installation to Another Vehicle

Transferring your Nextbase dashcam to a new vehicle involves several steps, including removing the existing components, preparing them for reuse, and arranging for reinstallation. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of the process.

Preparing for Transfer

Before transferring your Nextbase dashcam, ensure you have all the necessary components, including the dashcam itself, the mount, adhesive plate, and cabling. If you plan to reuse the existing cabling, make sure it can be safely removed from your current vehicle without damage. If you are unable to remove any cabling from your existing vehicle you can purchase new on our website.

Removing Components

To remove the Nextbase mount and adhesive plate from your current vehicle:

  1. Detach the Mount: Slide the mount off the adhesive plate from the left-hand side.

  2. Remove the Adhesive Plate: Use fishing line or thin, strong string in a sawing motion to separate the adhesive plate from the windscreen. This method helps lift the plate cleanly without damaging the glass.

Reusing Existing Parts

If the cabling and other components are in good condition, they can be reused in your new vehicle. This can save you the cost of purchasing new installation parts.

Installation Service Details

The standard installation fee covers the installation of your dashcam in the new vehicle but does not include the removal of the dashcam and wiring from your old car. If you require both removal and reinstallation services, you will need to request a comprehensive quote from an installation partner RS Connect. Charges from Nextbase apply solely to the installation service.

Contact Information

To arrange for the reinstallation of your Nextbase dashcam, contact an authorized installation partner. They can provide you with service details and pricing for transferring your dashcam to a new vehicle.
