Clear Write Protection on SD card

I've replaced the SD card in my dashcam and now want to reformat and reuse the old disk for something else, but I cannot clear the "this disk is write protected" error, so cannot reformat.  Any clues?

  Hi Chris, I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're experiencing with your SD card. Are you trying to format the SD card inside your Dash Cam or inside an SD card adapter in a computer? If you're using an adapter, make sure that the little write protection switch is not in the locked position (see image). When it's locked, all of your data is write protected.

  No, not using an adapter. Micro SD is straight in to PC through a card reader.

  Hi Chris, thanks for confirming. What happens if you try to format the SD card inside the Dash Cam? If you experience the same issue this would suggest that there is a problem with the SD card.

  I am trying to update my firmware from R25.1 to R25.2. I am following the instructions on your support website but when it comes to copying and pasting the update files from the zip folder to the nextbase SD card it will not let me.

  The reason is - I am getting this pop up (image attached) and I cannot find a way of removing the write protection from the SD card while still in the dashcam.

  If I skip as in the middle option box it will transfer but once finished it cannot be found.

  After going through the process many times I am still left with R25.1. 

  Can you please advise? Thank you.

  Hi, Brian. Please can you confirm if you are using an adaptor when trying to update the firmware on your camera?
  Have you also tried to format the SD card before trying to update?
  Have you tried to update your firmware through the My Nextbase Connect app on your phone?

  It's sorted now thank you. In the end someone from support helped. 4 lines if instruction and its done. Wading through 3 pages of the firmware update guide was not clear or helpful.
  SD card reader and a PC did the trick for me. Using the phone app did not work either. Thank you for taking the trouble to get back to me.
