What is Guardian Mode Lite?
Guardian Mode Lite is a simplified version of the advanced Guardian Mode, available on the iQ series. This feature uses video tagging and relies on geofence and speed triggers to monitor your vehicle when you’re not around, keeping it protected from unauthorised use or mishandling.
How does Guardian Mode Lite work?
When you’re away from your vehicle, Guardian Mode Lite keeps an eye on its location and speed. If a pre-set geofence perimeter is breached or a speed threshold is exceeded, the Dash Cam records the event and stores it as a protected video file.
How do I set up Guardian Mode Lite?
Complete Onboarding: First, complete the onboarding process in the Nextbase app.
Set Up Triggers: Configure your geofence perimeters and speed thresholds in the app.
Voice Activation: You can activate Guardian Mode Lite using a voice command like “Turn on Guardian Mode.” The Dash Cam will use your last known settings or the default options if none are set.
What happens during a breach?
Without Your Mobile Device Connected: If a geofence or speed trigger is activated and your mobile device isn’t connected, the event is recorded and stored on the SD card.
With Your Mobile Device Connected: If your phone is connected, you’ll receive an immediate notification of the breach. The app will alert you with a message like “Guardian Mode Speed Breach” or “Guardian Mode Location Breach.”
How do I access Guardian Mode Lite files?
Guardian Mode Lite files are easily identified in the Nextbase app by a specific Guardian Mode icon. The app also differentiates between geofence breaches and speed breaches with corresponding icons.
