Scanning the QR code

To setup your iQ Dash Cam you will need to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.

Follow these steps if you're having trouble scanning the code:

Don’t hold it in your hand.

Perform a 'dry' install of the iQ to get the best angle before you commit to adhering this to the windscreen. Once attached, make sure the pendant section of your iQ is aligned vertically with your phone's camera.

Don’t tilt your phone.

Your phone’s camera may have trouble scanning the code if it’s tilted at an angle. Make sure that it’s level with the iQ to get the best point of view.

Keep your distance.

If you’re holding your phone too close or too far away, it won’t scan the code. Try holding your phone about 30 cm (1 foot) away and slowly moving it towards the QR code.

(Some phone cameras can’t focus as well as others close up, so you may have to hold your phone a bit further away.)

Clean the lens.

Your phone’s lens can pick up a lot of dust and smudges that can affect image clarity, give it a wipe with a soft cloth to clean it if you see anything that might obstruct your view.

  1. Remove the clear plastic film from the iQ's pendant display (this helps to eliminate glare).

  2. When prompted in the app, make sure to allow permission to access your devices camera. If you deny this permission you won't be able to scan the QR code.

  3. Move your phone camera towards the QR code and then slowly pull the phone away from the iQ display, this will give your phone the best possible chance to focus on the QR code and scan correctly.

  4. If the QR code wont scan, or your iQ shows an error, then it's recommended to power the device off then back on again, in addition to force closing the application completely. Following a successful app force close, repeat step 3.

  5. Once the QR code is successfully scanned, the below screen will be shown for you to mount your iQ.
Please note: If your device requires a firmware update, it will begin this automatically during setup process.
