Nextbase Skins

What is a Nextbase Skin?

Skins are a visual effect and overlay that you can add to your Dash Cam videos. The Nextbase Skins allows you to personalise your videos with the following data:
  • Speed
  • GPS
  • G-force data
  • Map and location data
  • Rear camera footage
  • Longitude and latitude
  • Time and date
  • Social media usernames
Applying a skin makes your Dash Cam videos even better to share with friends, family and on social media.

How do I apply a Nextbase Skin?

Skins can be applied in the Nextbase app and is currently only available on the Piqo Dash Cam.

  • Connect your Dash Cam to the Nextbase app via Bluetooth and enter the library screen.
  • From here select the video file that you'd like to apply your Nextbase Skin to.
  • When in the Playback screen, select the Nextbase Skins button from the carousel at the bottom of your screen.
  • Here you'll be taken to the skins selection screen where you can personalise your skin and select the elements you'd like to see on the video. Make sure you enter your social media user name so that they also appear in your video.
  • Once done selecting the elements for your video, click apply and we'll start to download your video (if the video isn't downloaded to the Nextbase app already).
  • When the download is complete we'll render your video, remember to keep your phone and the Nextbase app open during this process, some older phones may take longer to render the video.
  • Once complete, you'll then be returned to the Playback screen where you can see your video with the Nextbase Skin applied.

Note:

  • Nextbase Skins can only be applied to a high resolution file, if you download a video as a standard resolution file you will not be able to apply a Nextbase Skin to it.
  • If you are not seeing any speed, GPS or G-Sensor information being pulled through into your video then this could be because your video is missing some data. Try applying a skin to another video, if you continue to have issues please contact customer support.
