What is Witness Mode Lite?
Witness Mode Lite allows you to protect crucial footage with a simple voice command. Once triggered, it safeguards video files related to an incident, ensuring they aren’t overwritten. You’ll also receive a notification, allowing you to upload the footage to the Nextbase cloud for safekeeping.
How Does Witness Mode Lite Work?
To start Witness Mode Lite, simply say:
"Hey Nexy, start witness mode."
The dash cam will immediately begin protecting footage with a “witness mode” tag, capturing video for a set duration of 15 minutes.
To end the session, use the voice command:
"Hey Nexy, stop witness mode."
The footage will remain protected on your SD card, and if your mobile device reconnects after the event, you’ll receive a notification prompting you to upload the footage to the Nextbase cloud.
Automatic File Protection
Even if your mobile device isn't connected during the event, all files recorded during Witness Mode Lite will be automatically protected on the SD card, ensuring they aren’t overwritten.
Notification and Cloud Upload
When Witness Mode Lite ends, and your mobile device reconnects to the dash cam, you’ll receive a notification. This will prompt you to upload the footage to the Nextbase cloud for secure storage.
