What to do if your phone is displaying error messages about permissions
We need to make sure that specific app permissions are enabled on your phone in order for the app to perform correctly. The process varies slightly between Android and iOS, the steps are as follows
Android:
- Swipe down from the top to the bottom of your phone screen and tap the settings cog wheel in the top right-hand corner.
- From the setup menu scroll down until you see "Apps" and select it
- Scroll down (or search) for "MyNextbase" and select it
- Now select the "Notifications" section and ensure all of them are set to on. Please note that without these permissions enabled you won't be able to use all of the functions inside the app.
- Go back to the previous page and select "Permissions".
- Make sure that "Location", "Storage" and "Telephone" are all selected and enabled.
- Make sure that "Location" is set to "Allow all the time".
You can now close the settings app and go back to the MyNextbase Connect app to continue using the dash cam as usual.
iPhone:
- Enter the settings app on the iPhone
- Scroll down until you see "MyNextbase"
- Make sure that the following permissions are selected
-
- Location - Always
- Bluetooth - On
- Local Network - On
- Motion & Fitness - On
- Background App Refresh - On
- Mobile Data - On
You can now close the settings app and go back to the MyNextbase Connect app to continue using the dash cam as usual.
